Problem Note 62838: "ERROR: A component of...is not a directory" and Condition Code=0 occur when you write to a z/OS HFS directory
When you create a Microsoft Excel spreadsheet using ODS EXCEL and write to a z/OS HFS directory, you might get an error similar to the following:
ERROR: A component of /home/#1277/-c /bin/ls -1d /tmp/_T2FF51C00 is not a directory.
In this scenario, the job ends with a Condition Code=0.
To work around this issue, ensure that the default UNIX shell is set to a valid command shell in the Open-Edition MVS (OMVS) segment. Otherwise, unpredictable results can occur. In this case, ODS EXCEL was affected. But this issue could occur in other places, specifically anywhere that issues a UNIX System Services (USS) command.
A fix for this issue is planned for a future software release. The fix will return a Condition Code=8 when this error is encountered.
